St John's College - Year 12 English Study Day
The purpose of the event is to introduce students to higher level academic study of English and to offer an insight into how the course is taught at Oxford. Participants will take part in three academic seminars covering different aspects of the Oxford course, led by academics from St John’s College. There will also be an opportunity to meet current students and to find out more about the application process. Please find the provisional programme here.
The event is appropriate for students who have a passion for literature and who will enjoy an academically challenging programme. There will be reading to complete in preparation for this event.
Selection criteria: There are 50 places available on the day. The College may consider information such as GCSE results, predicted A level results (or equivalent) to choose students who will best benefit from the event. Students should be predicted at least AAA at A level (or equivalent). No specific subject combinations are required. Places are generally limited to one per school/college although larger establishments may be offered more places.
