If you are a student interested in Philosophy, Politics or Economics and are keen to keep your future degree broad, Oxford's PPE course may be just what you are looking for. On 14 February, University College, Oxford is running a study day which will allow students a taste of this subject. It will also give suggestions on students can explore their academic interests beyond school in preparing to make a University application. Taster lectures will be run by University College's tutors on the following topics:
Philosophy: “Do we know anything at all?”, Professor Bill Child,
Politics: “Is liberalism racist?”, Dr Sophie Smith
Economics: “The Who and How of Monetary Policy-making”, Dr Stephen Hansen
There will also be smaller, discussion-based sessions, a session on making an Oxford application, along with a chance to tour the College with current students.
Check out a provisional timetable, details of how to apply and the selection criteria on the college's website.
