Opportunity for Year 12 students interested in History, English Literature, Law, Sociology, Politics, History of Art or any other Arts/Humanities subjects
On the 17th of February 2020, Girton and Newnham Colleges are running an Arts and Humanities Taster Day inspired by The Rising Tide, an exhibition currently taking place at Cambridge’s University Library. The exhibition focuses on the experiences of women who have lived and worked at the University of Cambridge over the last 150 years.
This interdisciplinary taster day provides an opportunity not only to see the exhibition and look inside the University Library (home to several million books), but to visit two Cambridge Colleges, and take part in an archives workshop inspired by the items on display in ‘The Rising Tide’.
Whether you know what you would like to study at university or not, this is a great way to find out what studying Arts and Humanities is really like – and hopefully be inspired to find out more about the different subjects on offer at the University of Cambridge and elsewhere.
This taster day will take place between several different locations in Cambridge, so please ensure that you arrive at Girton College for the beginning of the day. A buffet lunch will be included for all participants. We will be ending the day at Newnham College, from which you should make transport arrangements.
Applications for this event close on the 10th of February 2020
