English, MML, & Linguistics Taster Day

Interested in studying English, MML, or Linguistics at university?

Downing College is running an English, MML, and Linguistics Taster Day where you will be able to engage with our academics in these fields and our current undergraduates to get a true sense of what studying these subjects at university level is like!

This is a great opportunity to discover these Cambridge courses through a series of academic talks and information sessions. A preliminary timetable is provided below, subject to change:

10:15   Registration, Welcome, and Introduction

English – ‘The Golden Story’: Cliche and Romeo and Juliet, Tessa Peres (PhD student at the University of Cambridge)

MML & Linguistics – Introduction to Romanian, Professor Adam Ledgeway (Chair of the Faculty of MML)

12:30   Lunch

13:15    Meet the undergraduates!

13:45   Tour of the College

14:30   Taster Supervisions
